years of age, c.1909

Margaret was the youngest of the O'Neil children, born in 1894. She married Whitlow Reid 10 June 1913, just two months after Joe and Frances were married. Margaret and Whitlow, know as 'Buck', had five children - Mabel born in 1914, Whitlow (Joe) born in 1918, James born in 1922, Louis born in 1926 and Jean born in 1933.

The 1920 census shows Margaret and her two oldest children living on a farm next to Thomas and Margaret and listed as running the farm on her own account. Whitlow Reid's 1917 WWI draft registration document has his residence as Detroit and his occupation as handyman at the Ford Motor Company with a wife and one child. It also describes him as medium height, medium build with blue eyes and dark brown hair.

By 1930, according to the census record, the Reid family is living in Ferndale and Whitlow is working as a policeman for the Ferndale Police Department.

Based on the reminiscences of Harold and Betty O'Neill, compiled by Teresa (Terry) O'Neill.
